Engage

Soil Refinery

A year round community compost project, creating fertile soil, and teaching skills, scales and methods of production. This is an important process; an intentional step for individuals to move away from our disposable waste culture. We want to help people embrace the value of things we normally throw away. People participating and donating to the soil refinery are investing in the future of our city in an environmentally friendly way.

Practology

We will provide practical workshops as well as explore permaculture principles of design. Hands will get dirty as we develop and practice skills.

Communion 58

Communion 58 is our community gathering. Although we can access many resources in the virtual world we are interested in actually doing this together, face to face, shovel to shovel! –OK, probably not too many shovels at the Communion. Our desire is that this is not an event but an opportunity to network, get to know others, to inspire, share information and life. Each gathering will be different; sometimes eating together, sometimes walking together or just hanging out. When together we hope to facilitate the ‘collective creative response’ to all kinds of issues, which are almost endless in the size, shape and expressions they could take. Therefore the facilitators won’t be dictating our community actions, these will emerge from our collective creativity.

The Reflectory

As you will learn in the natural world things develop in layers. Our society often neglects or despises the deeper layers, being focused more on what we see. What happens underground is the key to the health of what grows above ground, and the same is true of people. The Reflectory is a chance to digest all we are learning and observing, ensuring we don’t waste the opportunity to grow as people. There will be some reflection tools online, but also opportunities to gather for this. This will not be a monologue, but opportunities for reflecting and sharing.
